SECOND STAYCATION IN THE SAME HOTEL and below, I'll share the resons why you should consider Herald Suites Solana in your next staycation.

We love staycation -- and by that I mean me, my son, and my husband. We're always on the lookout for local hotels that are not only affordable but also, worth staying.

As a freelancer, one of the perks I have is being able to work anytime, anywhere. However, we don't have the energy and the means to go on a vacation just yet. I'm loaded with work and I don't know, we both feel exhausted just thinking about the long travel time. Thus, staycation!

At least we have a quick escape from the every day life and also, it lets us feel pampered. My son loves hotels, too! He feels giddy everytime we say that we're going to stay there so, why not let the child happy.

What Ammenities Do We Consider In A Good Hotel?

There are four basic things we look at in a hotel, including;

✔️ Bathtub
✔️ Breakfast buffet
✔️ Pool
✔️ Carpet

Yes, carpet. It feels better and safer if the entire room is covered with carpet. You know, we have an energetic kid running around so, we need something that would avoid him from slipping.

A tub because, why not? It feels good to soak on warm water with bubbles. Also, if the pool's water is too cold, this is the perfect alternative.

Pool? It's a must. No need to explain that.

Buffet breakfast? Well, it's good to start the morning binge-eating.

Sadly, Herald Suites Solana doesn't offer a breakfast buffer. They do have plated meals instead and a small buffet of cereals, food, and bread. Breakfast includes Filipino dishes, such as Tapsilog and Tocilog, continental dishes, and Japanese breakfast. Overall, the food was amazing!

Is The Room Worth It?

Before diving into the actual review, let's learn a little bit more about the hotel.

Herald Suites Solana is a 3-star hotel located in 2914 Finlandia, corner Einstein, Street, Makati, 5006 Metro Manila. It's near Greenbelt, Glorietta, and Ayala Center Mall. It has other branches, namely Herald Suites and Herald Suites Polaris.

About the other hotels, the rooms are smaller than Solana and it has no carpet. (Big deal ang carpet kay momshie!)

We had a Superior Room, by the way, and we got it in promo. We checked in last December 14 and checked out on December 16. The first night is around Php3,050 and the second night costs Php2,500, including the taxes and all. The regular price is around Php3,200 + taxes.

Originally, we booked this room via Agoda since it's cheaper. It's around Php2,300 per night but because of the booking problems (I was charged without a booking confirmation, TWICE!), we booked directly at the hotel.

Anyway, it comes with the plated breakfast, 2 bottled water, and newspaper. The first time we visited it, we got free welcome drinks but the second time, I guess they ran out of orange juice. Lol!

The room was huge. It has 2 couches, 1 working desk and chair, a Queen bed, tub, safety deposit box, TV, and a mini bar. Basically, it has the basic things we need.

The room was cozy, lighting was good, and the ventilation is nice. The aircon works well and it's very cold so be sure to bring a jacket.

Is it worth it? DEFINITELY!

And that's one reason why we came back to this hotel. The first time is for my son's birthday and the second time, it's for my husband's birthday.

The other reason was the customer service. We're ordinary people. We wear slippers, a plain shirt, and pants when entering hotels and because of this, some hotel staff do not entertain us properly. IT HAPPENED A LOT. We feel discriminated and as a former hotelier, I don't think it's fair.

You should treat regular-looking people the same as the CEO or VIPs you see entering your premise. Thank goodness, Herald Suites Solana provide a warm customer service. From the bellman up to the waiter (and even the trainee, forgot her name though), we did not feel any discrimination.

Oh, before I forget. There's a SAUNA available. I used it once and it's good to feel warm and sweat. There's also a gym if you want to keep up with your fitness routine.

Any Problem Encountered?

The only concern is the water in the pool. It's freaking cold! My son and husband were able to enjoy it though but me, I can't dive in. I used the sauna instead.

Do I Recommend Herald Suites Solana Hotel?

Yes, definitely. It's perfect for family staycations  (and one of the best hotels for families in Makati) when you can't escape the city but you want a new view away from home.

It's affordable. Actually, it's a steal for a hotel with almost complete ammenities. We definitely consider it for future bookings.
