St. Giles Makati Hotel Review: Less Than 5K Hotel; Is It Worth It?

Having a very young child is a wonderful experience, the downside though is that our traveling time and distance is limited. So we (my fiancé and I) decided to have a staycation instead for our fourth anniversary as a couple. Using Agoda, we checked for the best hotel nearby. We ticked some necessary things from the filter such as the pool, breakfast, and price. We also looked for a non-smoking room with a bathtub inside.

The nearest match for our preference is the St. Giles Makati Hotelm which is located at Makati Avenue Corner Kalayaan Avenue, Makati, 1209 Metro Manila. With its 5-star rating and numerous positive feedback and the fact that we got it for only PHP 3,597.47 -- who would say no to this hotel?

Verdict

Checking-In

Going inside, I felt the warm and pleasant ambiance instantly. It's lightly scented and the smell takes me back to the first hotel I worked for. Nostalgia. The receptionists were a bit busy that time but the other personnel welcomed us with greetings and smile. The lobby's not that vast but it surely has a touch of sophistication.

Our check-in time is supposed to be at 2 PM but the hotel's fully booked that time so the receptionist advised us that we might get in at 3 PM; as for our check-out on the following day, we can go out as late as 2 PM. For the meantime, we can check out the other facilities such as the pool and the restaurant if we wanted to.

Bedroom
Upon entering, the room's pretty inviting. Well-ventilated; the lightings are amazing, and overall, it sends a message that we're gonna have a marvelous stay. It offers high-speed internet not only inside the room but in all areas.

Have noticed minor flaws though; the bathroom's mirror has black spots and the bathroom scale's not working. Nevertheless, it didn't affect our stay.

Pool Area
Sadly, it was raining during our stay so we only
enjoyed the pool for less than an hour.

As for the pool, it's small but it's clean and since it's not crowded, I don't see any problems with it. There's no lifeguard in the area but there's a security personnel ready to assist should there be any problem.

Although most of the areas are wet, a safety warning is displayed to avoid accidents; something that I really appreciate as most of the pools and places I've been to do not use it.

Gym
We didn't use the gym equipment but we didn't miss the chance to check it out. The area's cool and well-equipped and I see no problem in case you're a fitness enthusiast or a gym rat.

Dining
One of our inclusions is the buffet breakfast for two. It has a wide food selection from different cuisines such as Malaysian, Japanese, Indian, and Filipino. There's an omelet station in case you want to have scrambled, fried, or boiled eggs, hash brown, bacon, etc. The choices will make you crazy and the food is delectable, something that you should try every once in a while.

Recommendation
Out of 5 stars, I would give it 5! I somehow wish that there's a kid area for my child but it's fine. It's still a family-friendly hotel still and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to have an affordable, sophisticated hotel to stay in. The hotel's perfect for a staycation, business meeting, travel, etc. I find my stay worthwhile and it's something I look forward to after being busy and stressed.

Excellent room, dining, and customer service! Would definitely go back here again.

So if you're looking for the best hotel for staycation, you can definitely put St. Giles Makati Hotel in the list!
