I remembered having a haircut when I was pregnant. I don't exactly know why but maybe it's because I want a new look, or I think I'll be blaming "hormones" this time. For only 9-months, I had three haircuts and although I don't regret it, I really want to have a longer hair now.
So, if you're thinking about the same thing, here are some tips to grow your hair longer... and faster.
1. Improve Your Diet
Of course, it's no other than having a healthy diet. For a longer hair in a shorter time, the diet should be consist of nutrients and proteins to improve hair condition. Having a balanced eating habit can make hair follicles stronger. This will also help hair not to break easily. Some of the foods that are rich in proteins are egg, soya, pork, chicken, pistachio nuts and of course, fish and seafood.
Also, it is advised to take foods rich in omega-3 oils like salmon, walnuts, mackerels, sardines and egg yolks.
What's more important is to be consistent with it and avoid "yo-yo diet" as this can affect the hair growth.
2. Avoid Stress
A small amount of stress is actually good for the body, but too much of it is bad as it also affects hair growth. Alopecia Areata and Telogen Effluvium are hair conditions that are about hair loss and these things happen when you're too stressed. So mommy, take a time to relax!
2. Be Careful With Styling
Blowers, flat irons, and curling wands are quite helpful when it comes to hair styling, however too much heat can, obviously, damage hair. So, the best thing to do is limit it's usage and apply the right products on their to help it cope up with styling.
Here are some of the tried and tested hair products that guarantee amazing results in caring for damaged hairs due to styling.
Also, try not to expose your hair in too much sunlight as the heat can damage your hair as well. Be sure to wear a cap, bring an umbrella and protect your hair (and skin) as much as possible.
3. Use The Right Hair Products
Some people may not know it, but most hair products contain the same ingredients used in detergents. These ingredients are too harsh for the hair so, choose your hair products carefully and wisely.
Ingredients like ammonium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate are the ingredients that you want to avoid. So the next you go to a grocery, take note of these ingredients. As much as possible, opt for something natural like the Moringa-O² Herbal Shampoo with Argan Oil - Moringa-O².
4. Try The Right Vitamins and Conditioning Ingredients
Do you know that you can stimulate hair growth by having fish oil, arginine, and phytantriol? These ingredients promote the production of the necessary enzymes and hormones. You can also take supplements like Viviscal which is rich in vitamin C, aminomar and biotin - all of which are beneficial in hair growth and stimulation of the scalp.
5. Promote Oil in hair Naturally
I know, for us moms, there's never a day wherein we don't feel exhausted and sleepy. And, going to bed without having our hair brushed is pretty tempting. However, if you want to grow your hair longer and faster, you need to at least, give your hair few strokes to a healthier scalp. This is because the oil in our hair are evenly distributed. After all, we wanted to look great even in sleep, so before giving our kids a good night kiss, make sure to give our hair the love it deserves, too!
